A six-run third inning doomed the Wayne Blue Ponies team Sunday as they dropped a 10-1 decision to West Point Patriots at home.
Wayne outhit West Point 10-9, but could only manage a fourth-inning run when Herwin Bernal scored on a single by Blake Smith.
Spencer Moormeier, Aden Petersen and Smith each had two hits for Wayne, while Taven Ocampo, James Birkel, Alejandro Archundia and Bernal also had hits. Taven Ocampo took the loss on the mound.
