Boomerfest festivities are coming to Wayne

What has become a highly anticipated event for seniors throughout the area is scheduled to take place in Wayne on Thursday, April 24.

Boomerfest gets underway at noon that day with a Vendor Fair from noon to 2 p.m. at the Wayne City Auditorium.

A 10-point pitch tournament, with cash prizes begins at 1 p.m.

The Burt Heithold Band will provide music for listening and dancing from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 2:30 to 3 p.m. a Brownie Sundae Bar will be available.

This year's celebration wraps up with a pizza party from 4 to 5 p.m.

Snacks will be available throughout the afternoon and cash drawings will take place at various times that day.

Corporate sponsors for the event include Big Red County 104.9 and The City KCTY 98.9 FM 1590 AM, Kinship Pointe Wayne, Providence Medical Center, Right at Home, State Nebraska Bank & Trust, Wayne Country View Care and Rehabilitation and The Wayne Herald.

The event is also funded in part by a grant from the Wayne County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
