Christmas cheer

Posted

Two-week old Archie Manley, son of Ethan and Lexi Manley (left), slept through his first visit with Santa. He was one of many children visiting with the Man in Red during last week's Laurel Night of Lights. Wayne Community Schools hosted December Delights in the high school gym on Dec. 17.

Wayne High School Principal Russ Plager read "The Night Before Christmas" which was interspersed with a number of songs, both holiday and non-holiday, being played by the Wayne High Band under the direction of Alex Wieland. The fifth grade choir, under the direction of Ms. Christina Koeppe, sang"Somewhere in My Memories" from Home Alone. The sixth grade students, also directed by Ms. Koeppe, sang "Do You Hear What I Hear?" Also on Monday's schedule were performances by the bands from these grades, the seventh and eighth choirs and bands and the high school Jazz Choir and full choir. Additional photos will be included in coming editions of the Herald.
