Commissioners are given updates

At Tuesday's meeting, the Wayne County Commissioners took action on different items and received updates on some projects.

Amy Topp, a UNL Extension Educator brought up a few things that needed to be bought up or updated. The Commissioners approved the purchase of a new computer for the office, the request for office space off of the meeting room for EZC Coordinator, Extension Board's updated Constitution and By-laws and the updated interlocal Agreement with the University of Nebraska.

Next, Nic Kemnitz, Emergency Manager, explained the Nebraska Forest Service Planning Section Chief Request. He also gave updates on Severe Weather Week, the Elkhorn Valley LEPC Hazardous Materials Response Plan, the NEMA LEOP Requirements and the results of the Performance Grant Desk Monitoring Review.

Amy Miller, County Attorney, brought forth the Tax Credit Purchase Agreement with McCarthy Capital for Historic tax Credits at 92 cents per one dollar and the Power of Attorney form that allows David Levy of Baird Holm LLP to transfer the tax credits to McCarthy Capital. The Commissioners approved both of these items. 

An update on the replacement of the 2010 Escape was brought up. For 2022 there are no state bids so  there will be a government concessions which is across the country but every vehicle will have a different amount.

Finally, the Highway Superintendent, Mark Casey, gave a road and bridge update along with truck bid specifications. He also held open bids for C-90(670) and C-90(671). Midwest Service and Sales have placed their bid for the total price of $281,115.09 as well as B’s Enterprise for $242,500.20.

The Wayne County Board of Commissioners will next meet in regular session on Tuesday, March 1 at 9 a.m. in the Wayne County Courthouse.
