First Presbyterian Church plans coat giveaway

Posted

Are you ready for cold weather?  To help area families get ready for winter  the First Presbyterian Church Deacons will be hosting a coat give away on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Coats for all ages will be available; however, the selection will be limited to stock on hand.

The event will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the church. In addition to coats, there is a limited selection of hats, scarves and gloves and other winter accessories. Each “shopper” can select one coat and accessories, parents may select for their children. The event  is open to all area individuals and families and will be held from 10 a.m. to  1 p.m.

Given the space constraints no more than 20 “shoppers” will be allowed in the building at one time.  Your patience is appreciated during the busy times.

First Presbyterian Church  is located at 216 West Third Street and those taking part in the giveaway are asked to use the office door on the west side of the building (nearest the ramp).

The First Presbyterian Church Coat Closet will open for the season beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The closet’s normal hours are Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Coat Closet accepts clean, used coats in good condition for all ages and sizes. Coats can be dropped off at the church Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Please do not leave coats outside the building after hours.
