As the calendar switches to May, thoughts of graduation ceremonies enter the minds of high school seniors throughout the area.
Locally, Wakefield will hold graduation ceremonies on Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. in the school gym.
This year's class of 38 students has chosen "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" by Eleanor Roosevelt as their class motto.
The class song is "Forever Young" by Alphaville; the class colors are powder blue and navy blue and the class flower is the Forget Me Not.
Three schools will hold graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 10.
Allen's ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. in the Allen High School gym.
The Class of 2025 is made up of 16 members. They have chosen "One step at a time, but always forward," as a class motto. The class flower is a rose and the class colors are Columbia Blue and black.
Emerson-Hubbard will have gradation ceremonies at 2 p.m. on May 10 in the Emerson-Hubbard High School gym for the 12 members of this year's senior class.
The class chose the rose as the class flower and red, white and blue as class colors. The class song is "This Town's Been too Good to Us" by Dylan Scott.
Graduation ceremonies will also take place at 2 p.m. on May 10 for the 31 members of the Class of 2025 at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. The ceremony will be held in the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School gym.
"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory" by Dr. Suess is the class motto. The white rose tipped in orange is the class flower and the class song is "Vienna" by Billy Joel.
The final two area graduations will take place on Saturday, May 17.
Wayne High School will hold ceremonies at 1 p.m. that day in the Wayne High School gym for the 61 members of this year's graduating class.
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" by Bernard Baruch is the class motto and a pink Peruvian Lily is the class flower.
This year's graduating class of 14 members at Winside Public Schools will hold graduation ceremonies at 2 p.m. on May 17.
The class motto for the Class of 2025 is "Live while we're young" by One Direction; the class flower is the red rose; the class song is "Wake Me Up" by Avicii and the class colors are black, Cardinal and platinum.
