Emma (Walling) Jackson, a 2019 graduate of Wayne High School, was the recipient of the Golden Apple Educator of the Year for the Elkhorn Public School District. The award was presented during a Hall of Fame Banquet & Awards Ceremony last month. Making the presentation was Kristi Gross, Director of Special Education for the district. It recognizes Jackson, who is in her second year with the district, and notes that "she is extremely responsible and on top of all her duties as a special education teacher as well as dealing admirably with a very demanding caseload this year." She currently teaches special education and serves as an assistant coach for the Elkhorn North Dance Team. Emma is married to Wayne alumn Zane Jackson and is the daughter of Craig and Jill Walling.
