According to Dan Kuhlman, Laurel City Administrator and Economic Development Coordinator, City officials have been granted permission to release that business representatives from Accura HealthCare of West Des Moines, Iowa will be touring Hillcrest Care Center on Thursday, Feb. 27.
Accura has shown interest in acquiring Hillcrest Care Center.
“The City of Laurel recently began discussions with Accura HealthCare in the effort to provide continued skilled and assisted living care for present and future Hillcrest Care Center residents,” said Kuhlman.
While City leaders convey there are no guaranteed outcomes to this process, they remain hopeful. The potential acquisition of Hillcrest Care Center by Accura Healthcare represents both the City of Laurel’s and Accura’s commitment to providing a quality health care option for the elderly residents of Laurel and the surrounding area.
“Over the past year, Accura HealthCare has made a conscious effort to expand services in Nebraska,” said Ted LeNeave, CEO & Founder, Accura HealthCare. “We have found that the senior care profession in Nebraska is of the highest quality workers and clinical programs. We are excited about partnering in the delivery of exceptional care with Nebraskans. We believe our collective efforts will strengthen our ability to provide better care and support to residents and staff across the Midwest,” added LeNeave.
Both organizations are planning to hold staff meetings and resident-family conversations in the coming weeks to ensure transparency.
More detailed information will be provided as it becomes available.
