Old mailbox finds new life

A new Retired Flag Drop Box is located in the lobby of the Wayne Post Office.

Flags that are weathered or torn can be placed in the drop box, and are properly disposed of during a flag burning ceremony  each year at the Wayne County Fair.

Wayne Postmaster Jennifer Loomis located an old mail collection box to be converted into a place for the public to donate old and dilapidated flags.

Resurrected Rod & Kustom of Wayne restored and painted the former mail box and graphics were installed by Total Graphics in Wayne.

Additional retired flag drop boxes are located at the Wayne Public Library, Wayne County Courthouse, Winside Post Office and Winside Legion.

A special thank you for financial donations or in-kind services has been extended to the Wayne Vet’s Club, Winside American Legion Post 252, Winside Sons of the American Legion Squadron 252, Rezurrected Rod & Kustom, Postmaster Jennifer Loomis, Daryl and Amy Mundil and Total Graphics.
