TeamMates Mentoring has announced this year's National Mentoring Month theme is "Mentoring Matters".
January 1 marks the start of National Mentoring Month where nationwide, programs are honoring mentors for their service and the impact they are making on youth.
Wayne TeamMates will be hosting several activities throughout the month starting with, "Donuts with DeMo", a breakfast for mentors and mentees with TeamMates CEO, DeMoine Adams on Jan. 9. DeMoine with be giving his motivational speech to Jr/Sr High students later that day.
Other activities this month include a visit from Astronaut Clayton Anderson to third and fourth graders. This is funded by the READ Grant. Also this month will be a mentee/mentor gathering at the Wayne Activity Center, and Chamber Coffee to be held at the High School on Friday, Jan. 17.
"Mentoring matters because students matter," said TeamMates CEO DeMoine Adams. "During this National Mentoring Month, we want to give our sincerest thanks to all TeamMates mentors for giving the gift of their time. We could not serve the 10,000 students across 187 chapters in five states without our mentors."
