Veteran recognition

Recently at the Laurel Vets Club, Quilts of Valor were presented to Bob Dickey (left), Jim Thompson, Regg Ward and Dwayne Freeman. The Quilts of Valor Foundation is a nonprofit organization that awards handmade quilts to U.S. veterans and active-duty service members who have been touched by war. The quilts are a way to say "Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation." The Foundation was started in 2003 by Catherine Roberts, inspired by a dream she had about a soldier finding comfort in a quilt. Since then, they have awarded quilts to hundreds of thousands of veterans.
