Wade A. Nicholson, 55, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.  

There will be a Celebration of Life in Saint Bonifacius, Minnesota on Saturday, June 3 from 1 - 4 p.m. at Missile Park. There will be a Celebration of Life in Wakefield on Saturday, June 10 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Legion Hall, too.

Wade A. Nicholson was born May 29, 1967 in Wakefield to Rod and Vicki (Gaunt) Nicholson. He was baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1986. After high school Wade enlisted in the Air Force, serving for four years.

Wade resided in Minnesota for many years. Here he met and married Angie Eldstrom. To this union two daughters were born, Kiersten and Karissa. In later years he married Amy Stauffer and they eventually moved to North Carolina.

Wade was so proud of his daughters and loved them beyond all else. He enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends. He enjoyed life and didn’t take himself too seriously. Wade was a natural athlete and participated in several sports during high school, where he excelled in basketball. He was a life long Cornhusker and Vikings fan.  Through the years Wade worked in accounting and sales positions.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Nicholson of Clayton, North Carolina; daughter, Kiersten Nicholson of Farmington, Minnesota; daughter, Karissa Nicholson of Farmington, Minnesota and two grandchildren, Tianna and Sebastian also of Farmington; his mother Vicki and sister Tammy (Mike) Keadle all from North Carolina; stepdaughter Brianna Stauffer; mother-in-law, Linda Stauffer; brother-in-law Todd (Kelly) Stauffer; nephew, Max; niece, Grace; grandmother, Mylet Nicholson and many aunts, uncles and other relatives. Wade is also leaving behind his best friends, Jeff and Julie Rose.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rod; stepson, Tyler Stauffer; grandfather, Benton Nicholson; grandparents, Howard and Doris Gaunt and father-in-law Elwin Stauffer.
