Wayne High to present 'Fiddler on the Roof'

The community is invited to Join the cast of the 2025 Wayne High Spring Musical Friday - Sunday, April 11-13 as they present the Broadway icon and classic Fiddler On The Roof.

Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, Golde, his patient wife, and his five beautiful daughters. Surrounded by a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye works to protect his daughters and foster traditional values in the reality of changing social values and growing anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia.

Fiddler on the Roof's overarching theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences with feelings of laughter, joy and sadness.

With beloved songs such as "Sunrise, Sunset," "If I Were a Rich Man" and "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," Fiddler on the Roof is a flawless mix of humor and heart. Winner of nine Tony Awards when it debuted in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof is the product of Broadway legends, Jerome Robbins and Harold Prince; songwriters Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick; and bookwriter Joseph Stein. Touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty, this universal show continues to be an essential part of musical theatre history.. 

Performances will be held in the newly renovated Haun Auditorium at Wayne High School Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m.
