The Wayne Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire call just after noon today (Thursday). A fire was reported in a grove of trees at a farm nines miles south and one-half mile east of Wayne.
Firefighters remained on scene for some time as they worked to make sure all the dead debris was extinguished.
The fire department reminds all residents to use extreme caution as the area remains dry and humidity levels are low.
