Following a pair of home victories over a Wayne team, the Dirt Devil 10s Red youth softball team was back in action for mid-week competition.
From the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne, the Dirt Devils hosted Pender on May 14.
Dirt Devil 10s Red held onto a game one win of 5-4 followed by a 15-7 victory during the night camp to improve to 4-0.
In the opening game, KayLee Nelson doubled, drove in a run and scored; Caroline Endciott doubled and drove in a run as Meleah Larson singled, drove in a run and scored twice.
Paisllie Erwin singled and drove in a run; Delilah Lueth singled and scored as Finn Mueller scored.
Mueller (79 pitches) started the opening three innings allowing an earned run while striking out eight batters, walking seven and hitting one. Brynlee Suhr (26) worked an inning allowing three earned runs off three hits while striking out and walking one batter each.
During the second outing, Endicott singled twice, drove in two runs and scored; Lueth singled twice and scored twice as Kiersten Allen singled, drove in a run and scored twice for Dirt Devil 10s Red.
Bianca Hanson singled and drove in two runs; Mueller accounted for a RBI and two runs scored; Charli Sears, Nelson and Suhr all scored twice as Erwin and Larson both scored.
Suhr (52 pitches) started an inning and two-thirds allowing five earned runs off three hits while striking out one batter, walking six and hitting one. Erwin (16) worked a third of an inning allowing two earned runs while striking out one batter, walking two and hitting one.
