Back-to-back sweeps were posted on the road for #5 Wayne State College volleyball during a trip to North Dakota Nov. 7 - 8.
WSC began the road weekend at Minot State with a 3-0 victory (25-12, 25-20, 25-12) followed by a Saturday morning 3-0 victory at University of Mary (25-16, 27-25, 25-8).
The Wildcats have now won 11 straight including their 14th sweep of the season (24-3/17-1 NSIC).
During the Nov. 7 victory at Minot State, freshman Delaney Miller (.433) posted a team-high 16 kills and three digs while sophomore Chloe Hanel (.600) followed with nine kills, three blocks (one solo) and a dig.
Sophomore Molly Romano finished with 32 assists, four digs, three blocks (two solo) and a kill.
Sophomore Anna Borner led WSC in digs with 10 and had a service ace.
Junior Channatee Robles tallied seven kills, eight digs and a block; freshman Mattie Kamery added four kills, nine digs, a block and an ace as junior Laney Kathol tacked on two kills and two blocks (one solo).
Redshirt junior Reese Johnson recorded seven digs and an ace.
The Wildcats hit .361 and held the Beavers to a .042 attack percentage.
From the win against University of Mary, Robles (six digs, three service aces, one block) posted a team-high 13 kills followed by Miller (one dig) with 12 kills.
Romano finished with 40 assists, four digs, a block and a kill.
Johnson led WSC in digs with 18 to go along with an ace. Borner recorded 14 digs and an ace.
Kamery added eight kills, five digs, three blocks and two aces; Hanel tallied seven kills, two digs and a block as Kathol tacked on four kills, five blocks (one solo) and a dig.
Sophomore JoLee Ryan and junior Bella Hedke both posted a block.
The Wildcats hit .320 while the Marauders were held to a .102 attack percentage.
#5 Wayne State College will close out their regular season hosting Jamestown (ND) on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. followed by #22 Northern State on Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. WSC is 9-0 at Rice Auditroium as head coach Scott Kneifl is two wins away from reaching 500 career victories all with WSC.
