#6 WSC volleyball collects two NSIC road wins

With three weeks remaining on the regular season, #6 Wayne State College is looking to continue their success with a late NSIC push.

From Bemidji, MN, the Wildcats first won in straights sets at Bemidji State on Oct. 24 (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) followed by a 3-0 sweep over #18 Minnesota Duluth (25-21, 25-20, 25-19) the next night.

#6 Wayne State College is now 20-3 (13-1 NSIC) and have won seven straight.

In the victory against BSU, freshman Delaney Miller recorded a team-high 14 kills while junior Channatee Robles posted a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs to go along with two service aces.

Sophomore Molly Romano finished with 34 assists, nine digs and five kills. She also tallied two aces and a block.

Sophomore Chloe Hanel tacked on seven kills, two blocks (one solo), an ace and a dig.

Other dig leaders came from redshirt junior Reese Johnson with 12 as well as freshman Mattie Kamery and sophomore Anna Borner both with 10.

The Wildcats hit .346 in the match.

During the sweep at UMD, Robles led WSC with 13 kills, seven digs, three blocks (one solo) and four services aces.

Romano finished with 31 assists, four digs and three kills.

Borner posted a team-high 12 digs followed by Kamery with 11.

Hanel (two digs/four blocks, two solo/two aces) and Miller (four digs/two blocks) both had seven kills.

The Wildcats hit .275 in the match.

#6 Wayne State College will return to Rice Auditorium on the home court this week hosting MSU Moorhead on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. followed by Minnesota Crookston at 2 p.m. on Nov. 1.
