A Touch of Brass presenting concert Feb. 4

A Touch of Brass will present a colorful and diverse concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, in Ramsey Theatre, located in the Peterson Fine Arts Building at Wayne State College. The performance is free and open to the public and will also be livestreamed.

Repertoire features the “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” by G.F. Handel, often used in wedding processionals and performed at the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremonies; “Rushmore Trail” by Daniel Thrower, which premiered July 4, 2017, at Mount Rushmore; 2009 Grammy Song of the Year “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay and the up-tempo 1930s style “Puttin’ on the Ritz” by Irving Berlin.

A Touch of Brass includes David Bohnert, trumpet; Kevin McLouth, trumpet; Gary Reeves, horn; Randy Neuharth, trombone and Josh Calkin, tuba. The group has entertained audiences in Northeast Nebraska and the surrounding area for more than 30 years.
