ACT scores may be adjusted

Students throughout the nation may have received notices that the scores from the ACT exams taken this spring are incorrect.

According to Juan Elizondo, head of strategic communications for ACT, students who took the spring ACT online during the school day may have been affected by a scoring issue. Elizondo noted that the students’ scores may stay the same or go up slightly, but will not go down.

The issue, he said, was caught as part of ongoing quality assurance processes that happen to make sure tests get scored accurately.

The majority of the students affected were juniors or younger, Elizondo said.

Students were expected to have their corrected scores by June 2.
