Consolation matches and semifinals began today at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.
Grant Mass, in the 165 division, lost in first round consolations. Alex Frank, in the 144-pound division, lost during his second round consolation match, leaving Garrett Schultz (120-pound division) as the Wayne boys represenative to battle in the upcoming semifinal matches.
Another area wrestler, Bryan Isom of Emerson lost this morning in first round consolations.
In girls' action, Essynce Owens-Webb won her first round consolation by pin but lost in the second round.
Nyla Bolles came through with a pair of pins yesterday evening to become the second girl in Wayne's history to reach the semifinals in the NCAA State Wrestling competition. She will compete in the semifinals later this evening (Friday).
