The Wayne State volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday in a five-set match at Southwest Minnesota State, and as a result have dropped out of the top spot in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Div. II rankings.
The Wildcats fell two spots to No. 3 in this week’s poll behind MSU Denver and Concordia-St. Paul. The Wildcats are third ahead of Minnesota Duluth an Southwest Minnesota State.
The Northern Sun Conference has five of the top seven teams in the ratings this week, with St. Cloud State coming in at No. 7. Central Region teams Nebraska-Kearney (8), Northwest Missouri State (12), Washburn (14T) and Central Oklahoma (18) are also in this week’s rankings.
