Amy (Finn) Rasmussen, 66, of York, a Carroll native, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair following a prolonged illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne. Her brother, the Rev. Joseph Finn, will celebrate the funeral Mass. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at the church, followed by a 7 p.m. rosary. Burial will be at a later date at the Rose Hill Cemetery near Pender. 

Amy loved flowers, and the family asks that they be sent to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.

Amy Rasmussen was born Amy Louise Finn on Oct. 22, 1959 in Wayne. She grew up on the Finn family farm northeast of Carroll and was known for her strong work ethic. She attended rural school District 68 in Wayne County before graduating from Laurel-Concord High School in 1978. She was an active Wayne County 4-H member, carrying a variety of projects.

  Amy had an endless love and knowledge for plants, working for several nurseries across eastern Nebraska before and after earning her associate’s degree in horticulture. She also was a talented seamstress.

  Her faith was a guiding light and comfort throughout her life. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Gary Rasmussen of York, as well as her three children and six grandchildren: Kelly Hitchcock Hochanadel of Austin, Texas, and her husband, Mike, and their twin daughters, Alexandra and Elise; Sam Hitchcock of Springfield, Missouri, and his wife, Cherrelle, and their sons, Kael, Ezekiel and Joel; and Theresa Joy (Hitchcock) Holt of East Alton, Illinois., and her spouse, Jerica, and the infant daughter they are expecting in the coming weeks;  her seven siblings and their spouses: Mary Pat and Mike Hoag of Norfolk; Sally Stahlecker of Norfolk; Alan and Deb Finn of Wayne; Eileen Finn of Papillion; Mike and Lori Finn of Winside; Annette Finn of Omaha; and the Rev. Joseph Finn of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Marilyn (Brich) Finn of Carroll, and brother-in-law Russ Stahlecker of Norfolk.
