Area athletes among state's best

Several area athletes were listed in the Thursday edition of the Omaha World-Herald as it noted the top track and field performances in each class and throughout the state.
Wayne High is well represented in this week's listing, particularly on the girls' side.
Kylie Hammer is listed ninth among all long jumpers in the state with her best mark of 17 feet, 4 inches. That effort is good for fourth in Class B. She is also listed fourth in the triple jump with her best effort of 35-6 1/2.
Also listed for Wayne High is Tarah Stegemann in the girls high jump (tied for fifth, 5-2), Jenna Trenhaile in the girls discus (sixth, 118-10) and the girls 3,200-meter relay team (eighth, 10:33.19). Grayson McGride is tied for sixth among Class B boys high jumpers with his best mark of 6-4.
In Class C, LCC's Jayden Reifenrath is ranked second in the boys high jump with his best effort of 21-5, and Wakefield's Dylan Hurlbert is seventh in the boys 110-meter hurdles with his best time of 15.84 seconds.
In Class D, Allen's Tayler Kumm is the third-fastest miler with his best mark of 4:48.0 in the 1,600-meters. The Eagles' 3,200-meter relay team is also ranked third with their best mark of 8:54.0.
