Here are Friday’s area football highlights:
Wayne drops 28-26 heartbreaker to Pierce – Wayne outplayed Pierce in the second half after getting down by 22 points, but their comeback effort fell just short as they dropped a 28-26 decision to the Bluejays Friday at Wayne State College. Beau Bowers hooked up with Caden Korth right before halftime to make it 21-6, and after Pierce scored to open the second half, Wayne dominated play and nearly pulled off the comeback.
