A morning thundershower caused a two-hour rain delay at Wayne Country Club, but the 12 competing teams were able to get 18 holes of golf in Friday at the Wayne Invitational.
The Wayne girls finished sixth and the LCC girls were seventh among nine full teams, combining for five individual medalists among the top 20 finishers.
For Wayne, Megan Keiser finished 17th with a 114 and Hana Nelsen was 20th with a 117 to lead the Blue Devils to a team score of 488. Taylor French shot 127, Liz Junck had a 130 and Kecia Schenk carded a 139. Natalie Bentjen played as a JV participant and shot a 116, good for 18th overall.
For LCC, Nicole Hanson was ninth with a 104 and Brooke Young finished 16th with a 113 to lead the Lady Bears. Also scoring were Jadyn Kinkaid with a 140 and Glenda Vance with a 158.
Pierce claimed the team title with a 409, while Battle Creek was second at 440 and Thurston-Cuming placed third at 477.
