With the end of the 2023-2024 school year quickly coming to an end, area high schools have announced the dates of graduation ceremonies.
Wakefield Community Schools will hold graduation for this year's class of 37 students on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. in the high school gym.
The class has chosen baby pink and white as class colors and a snapdragon as the class flower.
"Be the change you wish to see in the world" Mahatma Gandi is this year's class motto.
Winside Public School will also hold graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. This year's class has 17 members. They have chosen red, black and silver as class colors and the white rose as the class flower.
"Chase your dreams, but always know the road that will lead you home again," Tim McGraw is the class motto.
Emerson-Hubbard will hold graduation ceremonies at 11 a.m. in the Emerson-Hubbard gym for the 12 members of the class of 2024. The class color is Senior Sunrise - yellows, pinks, oranges and purples and the class song is "I Live" by One Republic.
The class flower is rainbow colored mini roses.
"The fireworks begins today. Each diploma is a lighted match. Each of you is a fuse," Edward Koch is this year's class motto.
Wayne High School's graduation ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 in the High School gym.
The class of 2024 is made up of 67 members.
They have chosen a light pink Alstroemeria as the class flower.
Their class motto is "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts" by Winston Churchill.
In Allen, the nine members of the class of 2024 will graduate at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Class colors are blue and gold and the class flower is a rose. "Don's wish for it. Work for it" is the class motto.
The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge graduation ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.
This year's class has 27 members and they have chosen orange, black and white as class colors and a white rose as the class flower. "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus is the class song and "The road to success is always under construction" by Lily Tomlin is the class motto.
