Area students shine among Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association Academic All-State Awards program

All four local schools and several surrounding communities were highlighted among the 2024 Fall Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards.

According to a release, this NSAA Awards Program has recognized students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season of their activity since 2006. The program has grown at a steady pace with 2,838 students earning the award in 2006-2007 to 7,541 students honored during the 2023-2024 school year. In all, nearly 110,000 students have earned the honor of being named an NCPA Academic All-State award winner.

Each year the NSAA and the NCPA recognize students during fall, winter, and spring seasons who are nominated by their schools for their individual academic excellence, leadership and significant contributions in their NSAA activity.

Wayne High representatives are Boden Dobbins and Gavin Redden (boys cross country); Norah Armstrong and Olivia Hanson (girls cross country); Gavin Anderson and Kaden Keller (football), Lindsay Niemann and Rylynn Owen (girls golf); Jordyn Clinchard and Nyamalo Kantai (play production); Rylin Hall and Reagan McGuire (softball); Payton Junck and Gavin Redden (unified bowling) as well as Megan Magnuson and Elle Powicki (volleyball).

For Wakefield, individuals listed are Timothy Kaufman and Jesse Lundahl (football); Bianca Castillo and Griselda Zacarias Nicolas (play production) as well as Isabella Andrade and Alice Brown (volleyball). *Note names are issued from the schools to the NSAA.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge NCPA Academic All-State Awards from the fall sport and activity season are Carter Korth and Shane Langford (boys cross country); Addison Hoeppner and Kate Tasler (girls cross country); Cade Johnson (football); Clara Brummels and Holly Patefield (girls golf); Koby Detlefsen and Emma Sohler (play production) as well as Tali Erwin and Lainey Schutte (volleyball).

Winside representatives are Aleah Bilstein (girls cross country); Dane Behmer and Korbin Carlson (football) as well as Jerzi Carlson and Skylar Spann (volleyball).

Nominated students must be a varsity player or organizational leader who has played a significant role on the team or group in a school activity. The student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average, in all curricular subjects, of 93% or 3.7 on a 4.0-point scale (or the equivalent). Students who meet the requirements shall be awarded the NCPA Academic All-State Award for that activity.
