AREA WRESTLING – Wayne medals eight, takes third at Neligh

Here are Saturday’s area high school wrestling highlights:

Wayne wrestlers tie for third at Neligh – The Wayne High wrestlers earned eight individual medals and tied for third among 21 teams at the Neligh-Oakdale Invitational. Heavyweight Hunter Jorgensen was the lone champion for the Blue Devils, going 3-0 to take the 285-pound title. Mikey Reyes lost an overtime match to finish second at 220 pounds. Cameron Muhs placed third at 120, fourths went to Juan Vergara (132), Casey Koenig (152) and Daniel Maxson (170), and fifth were earned by Isaiah Muhs (160) and Cade Janke (182).

Winside gets five medals at Oakland-Craig – Winside brought home five medals and placed ninth out of 16 teams in the Oakland-Craig Invitational. Koby Ellis and Sean Mann led the way with runner-up finishes at 106 and 126 pounds, respectively. Carter Jensen finished third at 113 pounds, while Zach Morris (152) and Michael Jensen (170) both finished sixth.
