Arlene F. Woerdemann, 82, of Norfolk, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at the Stanton Health Center.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Father Patrick McLaughlin will be officiating the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Visitation will be 4 -7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a Rosary service beginning at 7 p.m.
Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements.
Arlene F. Woerdemann was born April 18, 1941 in West Point to Gilbert and Marie (Buse) Ernesti. She attended grade school in West Point and graduated from West Point Guardian Angels High School in 1959. She married Robert “Bob” Woerdemann on Nov. 16, 1963 in Aloys, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. After marriage, they moved to a farm south of Wisner in 1963. They moved to Norfolk in 1986. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Woerdemann, of Norfolk; children, Anthony (Tony) Woerdemann of Creston, Tina Thomsen of Norfolk, Michael (Amy) Woerdemann of Wayne and Mary Thompson of Norfolk; six grandchildren; a sister, Verena (Robert) Ridder of Fremont, brother, Marvin (Gayleen) Ernesti of Norfolk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Marie; sisters, Janith Casey, Julie Meister, Karen Schroeder; brother, Gilbert Ernesti Jr.; grandson, Jacob Woerdemann and son-in-law, Bill Thomsen.
Pallbearers will be Mason Thompson, Daniel Thomsen, Tanner Thompson, Matthew Thomsen, Joseph Woerdemann, and Gavin Redden.
