Barbara Jean Stanton, 76, of Pender, died Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Pender Community Hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the United Church of Pender.
Arrangements are with Meyer Brothers Funeral Homes in Sioux City, Iowa.
Barbara Jean Stanton was born Feb.11, 1947 in Wayne, the daughter of Lloyd and Marilou (Cook) McQuistan. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1965. After moving to California, Barb met Joe and the couple eloped to Las Vegas on April 6, 1970. To this union, two sons were born.
Barb and Joe operated the Feed Bunk for many years and Barb worked as the head cook for Pender Public Schools and the Pender Community Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing BINGO and word finds, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her sons, Doug (Kellie) Stanton of Bassett and Matt Stanton (Jeanne Brandner) of Lincoln; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Marian Suter of Richfield, Minnesota, and brother Robert (Karen) McQuistan of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
