The LCC Bears racked up 404 yards in total offense Friday and opened the season with a 26-13 win over Guardian Angels Central Catholic at Haskell Field.

The visiting Bluejays scored early in the game, but the Bears took the lead for good with a pair of touchdown passes. Dylan Taylor found Carter Kvols for a 69-yard pitch-and-catch, and later in the second he hooked up with Gibson Roberts for an 18-yard scored that made it 12-7 at intermission.

Eli Haisch gave LCC some breathing room with a 32-yard scamper off the far side midway through the third quarter, and Taylor added one of his own, beating the defender to the pylon for a five-yard sprint early in the final period.

LCC had a 404-236 advantage in total offense and had a good night offensively, going 7-of-13 on third-down conversions while playing turnover-free football.
