Bears score 32 unanswered fourth quarter points, Haisch with big day on both sides of ball

A second road outing took over the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge football team scheduled in eight-man action.

From Norfolk, LCC visited Lutheran High Northeast Friday night.

After falling behind two scores, the Bears posted a comeback to win 32-14. Both teams are now 1-3 on the season.

Following first and second quarter scores for the host Eagles to go up 14-0, the game also remained 14-0 entering the fourth.

Eli Haisch began scoring for LCC on a four-yard run (two-point conversion failed) followed by a defensive score from a 12-yard fumble return by Cade Johnson (two-point conversion failed) to trail 14-12.

The Bears then took the lead off a five-yard run from Connor Korth (two-point failed) at 18-14. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge closed out the game with Haisch scoring two more times (four-yard/11-yard runs) and converting one of two two-point scores.

Final favored LCC winning 32-14.

Korth was 4-18 for seven yards passing while rushing the ball 10 times for 51 yards and one score.

Haisch recorded 124 yards on 21 carries along with three scores. Caleb Erwin added six carries for 22 yards and one catch for two yards as Drey Puppe hauled in two receptions for five yards.

The Bears were led by Haisch with 14 tackles (10 solo) and one tackle for loss; Korth followed with 10 tackles (seven solo) and three tackles for loss along with Tanner Thompson with six solo stops.

Other defensive take-a-ways were Thompson with a fumble recovery and Erwin with an interception.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge ran 63 plays for 207 yards (200 rushing/seven passing) while Lutheran High Northeast added 145 yards on 46 plays (61 rushing/84 passing).

LCC was 4-15 on third down and 2-6 on fourth down as the Eagles finished 3-12 on third down and 0-2 on fourth down.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge football team will next host Elkhorn Valley on Friday, Sept. 27.
