An electric postseason crowd packed into the stands as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge made history on the court.
From Laurel on Nov. 1, the fifth-seeded Bears played in their second straight five-set match during postseason action this time in the C2-5 District final against #12 Stanton.
In a back-and-forth match LCC would pick up the five set victory over the visiting Mustangs (25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 23-25, 15-9).
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (31-3) has now won 12 straight while Stanton (23-9) dropped back-to-back in the postseason.
A trio of double-doubles were posted by LCC being led by junior Rena Rasmussen (five blocks/four solo, two aces, four assists) with 26 kills and 18 digs; junior Kaida Eriksen (one ace, one block, one assist) recorded a team-high 23 digs and 14 kills as junior Carlie Kvols (one kill, one ace, one block) finished with 48 assists and 13 digs.
Senior Tyler Recob tallied 15 kills, six blocks (five solo), seven digs, three service aces and three assists.
Junior Boston Brown added 14 digs, three kills, an ace and a block.
Senior Laney Folkers (one block) and sophomore Taelynn Settje both closed with three digs.
This will mark the first-ever trip to state as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
Coleridge made it to state in 2008 while Laurel-Concord qualified in 2002 earning a Class C2 runner-up finish.
The 2025 NSAA Class C2 State Volleyball Championships will open on Nov. 6 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
First round matches will be single elimination.

#6 LCC will close out the night on PBA South Court at 7 p.m. against #3 Norfolk Catholic (27-5).
The winner will advance to the Nov. 7 semifinal final round against the winner of either #2 GACC (28-3) or #7 Oakland-Craig (28-7) at 3 p.m. on PBA South Court. GACC/O-C play Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. ahead of the LCC match.
The other half of the C2 bracket will be in action on PBA North Court on Nov. 6 showcasing #1 Johnson County Central (31-0) vs. #8 Yutan (21-7) at 5 p.m. followed by #4 Freeman (26-4) vs. #5 Thayer Central (27-5) at 7 p.m. Winners will play at 1 p.m. on PBA South Court on Nov. 7.
The C2 consolation match will be held at Lincoln East on Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.
The C2 state championship match is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
