Bids for a new tractor for use in Wayne County District 3 were opened during Tuesday's meeting of the Wayne County Board of Commissioners.
A total of six bids were received and opened during the meeting.
They included one bid from Marx Equipment of Battle Creek; three separate bids from Titan Machinery in Wayne and two from Grossenburg Equipment in Wayne.
Each of the bids did include a trade-in allowance for the 2022 McCormick tractor the district currently has.
The bids ranged from $175,000 from Marx with a trade-in of $132,500 for a final cost of $42,500 to the high of $272,000 from Grossenburg with a trade-in of $59,00 for a final cost of $213,000.
The commissioners discussed what the bid specifications indicated and said all fell within the requirements.
"We will look at all these bids and do what is best for the tax payers," Commissioner Terry Sievers said.
No action was taken as the bids will be reviewed and awarded at the next commissioner meeting.

Little Red Hen Theatre (Sense and Sensibility) - $500 and
The Wakefield Party (splitting $1,500 request with Dixon County) - $750.
The Wayne County Board of Commissioners will next meet in regular session on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. in the Wayne County Courtroom.
