A five-run fifth inning turned the game around for South Sioux City as the Wayne American Legion seniors dropped a 5-2 decision on the road Wednesday at Voss Field.

Wayne got on the board in the second on an RBI double by Adam Bentjen that scored Zane Jackson. They made it 2-0 in the fourth when Jackson came home on an error.

South Sioux City got a run in the bottom of the fifth, then strung together three two-out singles in a row later in the inning to put up five runs that helped them come away with the win.

Bentjen and Jackson both had doubles and Jackson had two of Wayne’s four hits in the losing effort. Tyler Lutt took the loss, pitching 4 2/3 innings.

Wayne, 13-10, will play in a tournament this weekend in Yutan to close out the regular season.
