Wayne High senior softball standouts Sidney Biggerstaff and Annie Kniesche were selected among 30 girls from across the state to participate in the 15th annual Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star softball game this summer in Lincoln.
Biggerstaff, a catcher, and Kniesche, a shortstop, helped lead the Wayne High softball team to the 2018 Class C state title last season.
Players will be assigned to teams later this season. The Red team will be coaches by Pete Theoharis of Hastings and Chad Perkins of Omaha Marian, while the Blue squad will be led by Dan Hogan of Papillion-LaVista South and Dave Brabec of Bishop Neumann.
A doubleheader will be played on Wednesday, July 24 at 5 p.m. at UNL’s Bowlin Field.
