Blue Cat Gallery to host 'Signs of Rural Life'

Blue Cat Gallery & Studio has announced the opening of the ninth annual juried exhibit, “Signs of Rural Life,” on display from July 9-Aug. 8.

The opening reception is Friday, July 10 from 5-7 p.m. during Henoween of the Wayne Chicken Show. At 5:30 p.m., awards of First Place, Second Place and Third Place will be announced at the reception by Atkins, along with a brief juror’s talk.

The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. A People’s Choice award will also be given to an artist at the close of the exhibit on Aug. 8. The public is invited and encouraged to cast their vote.

A “Best in Category” will be awarded for each of three age divisions: Ages 14-17, Ages 10-13, and Ages 9 and younger.

This year’s judge for the youth competition is Stacey Frisch, Wayne State College alum and current art teacher at Randolph Public Schools. Winners will be announced at Friday’s reception.
