More than 50 high school golfers showcased their talents which included the Wayne High boys during a weekday outing.
From Indian Trails Country Club in Beemer, the Blue Devils competed in their first 18-hole invite hosted by West Point-Beemer on April 10.
Battle Creek won the West Point-Beemer Invite with a 371, Pender followed in second (380), Oakland-Craig took third (384), Hartington-Newcastle placed fourth (399) and the host West Point-Beemer rounded out the top five teams with a 401.
Wayne High shot a 404 to earn a sixth place team finish out of 13.
No team scoring was provided.
Individual results: West Point-Beemer Invite Overall
Junior Mason Karsky just missed a top 15 medal shooting a 99 to tie for 18th overall. Senior Colson Nelsen and sophomore Dylan Jensen both followed with a 100 to tie for 20th.
Other team scoring came from sophomore Landen Sharer (105) and junior Carter Wiese (118).
Mitchell Kelly from Pender posted an 80 to win the West Point-Beemer Invite by four shots ahead of Peyton Penrose (West Point-Beemer) and Gavin Lindgren (Battle Creek) both with an 84.
The Wayne High boys golf team will next travel to the Albion Country Club to compete in the Boone Central Invite on Thursday, April 17.
