Blue Devil boys wrestling split road triangular

More triangular action took over the Wayne wrestling schedule for a second straight night.

After the Wayne girls hosted Wakefield and Winnebago on Monday, the Blue Devil boys took to the road for the Plainview triangular with Boone Central one night later on Tuesday.

Originally scheduled to be held in Wayne with the girls teams, the triangular was moved to Plainview for a boys only triangular.

The Wayne boys picked up a 48-27 victory over Boone Central but suffered a 56-18 loss to Plainview.

The middle match favored Plainview winning 58-20 against Bone Central.

During the dual victory over Boone Central, contested match wins came from Maddox Ziska (285) by fall (4:31) over Griffin Cunningham; Emmanuel Gonzalez (106) by tech fall (15-0, 4:00); Grady Maas (113) by major decision (9-0) over Kahnen Prelster; Ethan Gregory (120) by fall (2:17) over Owen Laska; Thomas Raymundo (126) by fall (0:29) over Blue Zoucha and Will Leseberg (132) by decision (10-7) over Gavin Mauch.

The Blue Devils also won 157, 165 and 175 by forfeit.

Noah Magnuson (138) suffered a loss by tech fall (16-1, 3:35); Hunter Foote (144) loss by tech fall (20-3, 2:14); Ty Zach (150) loss by tech fall (18-2, 2:04); Jaime Ramirez Salas (190) loss by fall (4:18) and Keaton Gregory (215) loss by fall (1:55).

Two exhibition matches saw Weston Patefield (138) lose by fall (2:55) and Daevin Casarrubio (144) loss by fall (0:40).

From the dual loss against the host Plainview, contested match wins came from Zach (150) by fall (2:24) over Hunter Meyer and Taven Ocampo (165) by fall (1:59) over Jaeger Frahm.

Wayne also won 157 by forfeit.

Exhibition matches favored Alan Ramirez Salas (190) by fall (1:27) over Aiden Hamilton while Cameron Hays (126) loss by fall (2:27) and Samuel Leseberg (157) loss by fall (0:59).

The Wayne High girls wrestling team will next be in action on Friday, Jan. 10 during the Malcolm Invite while the Blue Devil boys wrestlers will next travel to the Malcolm Invite on Saturday, Jan. 11.
