Blue Devil girls tab four medals, led by Bolles in first and Owens-Webb in second; Winside also in action

A pair of local girls wrestling programs went to work during Friday competition.

From Schuyler, the Wayne High and Winside girls wrestling teams were among the 26 teams represented in the Schuyler Invite.

The Wayne High girls brought 12 wrestlers and finished seventh with 106 points while the Winside girls took 20th with seven points among their three wrestlers.

Grand Island won the Schuyler Girls Invite with 203 points, Blair followed in runner-up (163), Crete took third (131.5), Lexington placed fourth (126) and Beatrice rounded out the top five teams with 123 points.

Wayne leaders were Nyla Bolles (135) winning her division; Essynce Owens-Webb (100) followed in runner-up; Kadence Rees (155) took third as Alexa Chavez (140) placed sixth.

Other scoring came from Lupita Alba (110), Gracelynn Daniels (115), Serenity Heil-Ellis (125), Anna Naeve (145) and Jasmine Contreras (235) while Andrea Bacilio (105), Macy Wilson (120) and Megan Magnuson (130) were also in action.

Winside was led by an event JV champion with Maci Schmidt (130) who scored all seven points. Raylyn Behmer (115) and Lily Umbarger (145) were also in action.
