The Wayne High softball team put up double-digit run totals in the first inning of both games to easily sweep a triangular Monday in Schuyler.
Wayne scored 11 runs in the first inning against Schuyler and easily came away with a 14-0 win. Tori Kniesche threw her first career high school no-hitter in the three-inning game, striking out seven and walking three. The Blue Devils outhit the Cadets 5-0 and got two doubles and three RBI's from Jamie Gamble. Abby Ankeny had two RBI's and Annie Kniesche drove in four runs.
The Blue Devils took care of West Point-Beemer 15-0, using another 11-run first inning to get the win, with Hannah Belt throwing a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts and one walk. Belt and Kiara Hochstein each had three hits, and Gamble and Ashten Gibson each had two as the Blue Devils cranked out 13 hits in the win.
The Blue Devils host Boone Central/Newman Grove and Pierce in a 4:30 p.m. triangular Tuesday at the Wayne Summer Sports Complex.
