Wayne won five of the last six contested matches to come from behind for a 45-36 win over Norfolk Catholic in dual action Thursday at Wayne High School.
The visitors won four of the first five matches to take a 24-6 lead, but Wayne rebounded with a run of three pins by Isaiah Muhs (170), Garrett Schafer (182) and Berto Vergara (195) to tie the match at 24-24.
After Wayne received two forfeits, Norfolk Catholic got a pin and a forfeit to tie the match at 36-36. Cameron Muhs came up with the match of the night, going to sudden victory and getting a takedown early in the extra period to claim a 6-4 win at 120 pounds, and Gage Schultz put the win on ice with a solid 47-second takedown in the final match at 126 pounds.
Pins were earned by Muhs, Schaefer, Vergara, Schultz and Tristan Landanger (145).
