A big third inning helped Crete come away with an 11-1 win over Wayne/Wakefield in baseball action Tuesday at Tuxedo Park in Crete.
The Blue Devils got a run in the second inning when Caden Korth walked and came home on a sacrifice fly by Hagan Miller, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
Crete came up with a big inning in the third, plating six runs on five hits. They added three more in the fourth and two in the fifth to end the game on the eight-run rule.
Tyler Lutt and Tucker Nichols both had hits for Wayne/Wakefield. Adam Bentjen pitched four innings and took the loss, with Mikey Reyes, Korth and Caleb Anderson all seeing action in relief.
Wayne/Wakefield, 5-8, plays at Norfolk on Thursday and hosts Seward on Saturday.
