Blue Devils secure four set road win

Following a four day bracket from competition, the Wayne High volleyball team started a busy upcoming road stretch.

From Logan View/Scribner-Snyder High School near Hooper, the Blue Devils and Raiders showcased a battle of Class C1 teams.

After dropping the first set, Wayne High battled back to win the final three and pick up a four set victory over the host Raiders. WHS is now 6-2 on the season while Logan View/Scribner-Snyder fell to 4-5.

Scores of the match favored the Blue Devils 20-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-19.

Junior Elle Powicki recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs while sophomore Mallory Redden posted 29 assists and 17 digs to go along with three kills and a solo block. Sophomore Addison Frank led the team in digs with 23.

Junior Haley Kramer followed with eight kills and 10 digs; junior Megan Magnuson tacked on five kills, one dig and a solo block; seniors Amelia Legler (four digs) and freshman Kamden Dobbins (three digs) both had four kills as sophomore Naomi Lipp tallied two kills. Other digs came from junior Jacen Hasemann (five).

Sophomore Alexis Legler also had a solo block.

Kramer produced seven service aces, Redden and Amelia Legler both had three aces as Magnuson and Powicki each tallied an ace.
