The Wayne High boys golf team finished two shots behind Oakland-Craig to take runner-up honors at Thursday’s Mac Invite at the Wayne Country Club.
The Blue Devils shot a season-low round of 338, beating Columbus Scotus by three shots for the runner-up trophy. Oakland-Craig claimed top honors with a 336 in the 12-team tournament.
Individually, Wayne had four golfers finish in the top 20. Tanner Walling led the way, placing third with a 79, Shea Sweetland was 10th with an 85, and Jonah Brodersen and Christopher Woerdemann both shot 87, finishing 15th and 16th, respectively. Peyton DeWald closed out the varsity team effort with a 97.
Among Wayne’s JV golfers, Drew Sharpe had the low round with a 93 and Nolan Hunke finished with a 95.
