Following a five-touchdown performance and over 260 yards of total offense, senior Nick Bohn was credited with an in-season conference award.
According to a release from the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota, the Bennington-native captured the NSIC Offensive Football Player of the Week honors. He led Wayne State College to a 41-7 road victory against Southwest Minnesota State this past weekend.
Bohn finished with 263 yards of total offense and five touchdowns. He completed 15-23 for 218 yards with four scores to three different receivers and added 45 rush yards on seven carries with one score.
Bohn also became the third player in school history to surpass 9,000 career yards of total offense now at 9,195 yards. He also ranks third in school history with 7,901 career passing yards.
Bohn ranks second in the NSIC in passing touchdowns (15) and also has four rushing touchdowns.
Other Wildcats under consideration were senior linebacker Dexter Larsen and junior kicker/punter/wide receiver Trevor Marshall.
Larsen tied for the team-high five tackles which included with two sacks for 13 yards loss and one forced fumble. The Blair-native helped the Wildcat defense limit SMSU to 158 yards of total offense and recorded seven sacks. Larsen is tied for fifth in the league in tackles per game (7.7).
Marshall averaged 52 yards on four punts with two punts inside-the-20 and a long of 62 yards. The Gretna-native averaged 59.7 yards on seven kickoffs with two touchbacks. Marshall also had one reception for four yards. He leads the NSIC with a 44.4 yard punting average while also have the most 50+ yard punts with 10 and is tied for the league-lead with nine punts inside-the-20. As a team, WSC leads the league with 41.8 yards of net punting.
