Bonnie A. Schrieber died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at her home at Kinship Pointe at Wayne. 

Services will be held Monday, April 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Wakefield. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Bonnie’s family for later designation.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Bonnie Ann Schrieber was born May 17, 1929 on a farm north of Wayne in Dixon County to Herbert and Lena (Reuter) Hinnerichs.  She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Wakefield. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School eight years and graduated from Wayne High School in 1947. Bonnie married Elmer Schrieber April 15, 1950 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. They moved to their farm northeast of Wayne in 1955 where they raised their family. In 1991, the couple retired and continued to live on the farm. Bonnie was a life-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, member of Ladies Aid, holding many offices, former Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir.   Bonnie worked at home raising many chickens and enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Bonnie moved into Wayne after Elmer’s death.

Survivors include her daughters, Gayle Mau of Windsor, Colorado, and Kimberly (Larry) Creighton of Fremont; son-in-law, Leon Husmann of Pilger; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer, in 2008; grandson, Matthew Creighton, in 1977; daughter, Cynthia Husmann, in 2020; son-in-law, Doug Mau in 2016; brother, Gilbert Hinnerichs; three sisters, Betty Lessmann (twin sister), Bernita Sherbahn, and Alice Roeber.
