The bracket for the Mid State Conference softball tournament was announced late Tuesday, and Wayne is the No. 1 seed for the five-team tournament scheduled for Saturday in Albion.
Wayne will play the winner of the Pierce vs. O’Neill game, with the winner advancing to the finals. The other half of the bracket includes Boone Central/Newman Grove and Guardian Angels Central Catholic.
The schedule is as follows (seed in parenthesis):
Game 1 — (3) Boone Central/Newman Grove vs. (2) Guardian Angels CC, 10 a.m., South Field
Game 2 — (4) O’Neill vs. (5) Pierce, 10 a.m., North Field
Game 3 — O’Neill/Pierce winner vs. (1) Wayne, 11:45 a.m., North Field
Game 4 — Game 1 loser vs. Game 2 loser, 11:45 a.m., South Field
Game 5 — Consolation, 1:30 p.m., South Field
Game 6 — Championship, 1:30 p.m., North Field
