Additional budget discussion took up the latter half of the Aug. 4 regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting.
From the Wayne County Public Annex, Mike Pommer was in attendance as the budget is 'tying together very well'.
With still the addition of a few items including bridge contracts and bond payments, the cash reserve for Wayne County is 'decent'.
By the next meeting in August, Commissioners will have a good idea on hard numbers when it comes to the budget.
County Attorney Amy Miller was also in attendance to answer questions about a potential move from her office on Main Street and was never opposed to moving into a county office in the past.
If there are any changes to the budget, Commissioners will keep Pommer up to date.
Library Directors Heather Headley from the Wayne Public Library and Lara Lanphear from the Lied Winside Public Library provided their annual updates.
Highway Superintendent Kyle Huff brought forward a few agenda items starting with acting on utility application for District 1 (Terry Sievers) from Farr Technologies.
Commissioners approved the proposal which will allow Wayne County to start fresh with old utility applications being removed.
A 2027 SmithCo side dump was approved for District 3 (Jim Rabe) from Kohlhof Trailer Solutions in Dannebrog (near Grand Island).
The next regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 9 a.m.
