Carl Mellor
Carl Mellor, 90, of Norfolk, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026 at his residence.
In keeping with Carl's wishes, he will be cremated and the immediate family will be honoring his life with a small, private celebration of life.

Carl Edward Mellor, son of Edgar and Halie (Pierson) Mellor, was born Feb. 7, 1936, in Hollywood, California. He grew up in Gem, Kansas and received his bachelor’s degree in Physics from Kansas University. On June 19, 1982 Carl married Geraldine (Hartwig) Ruoff.
After marrying, Carl and Geraldine resided in Wakefield and most recently in Norfolk, Nebraska. He farmed land in Wakefield, Nebraska and in Kansas. As a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, he delivered Meals on Wheels to those in need and was a member of the Braille Committee.
Carl is survived by his stepchildren, Ingrid Morgan, Renae Conner, and Kurt Ruoff; and four grandchildren, Danielle Birzer, Courtney Morgan, Connor Morgan, and Jesse Ruoff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Halie Mellor; wife, Geraldine; stepdaughter, Lisa Birzer; and brother, George Mellor.
